Mission Statement
The Children’s Ministry mission is growing young disciples in Christ by providing a variety of faith-based activities and fellowship with a focus on young children and their families.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Children’s Ministry is composed of extremely dedicated parents, a supportive community of disciples and staff, and most importantly, vibrant children eager to learn, live and grow in God’s word.
Each Sunday morning during worship services and Sunday School hour, a nursery staff supervisor and parent volunteers offer love and care for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. St. Mark’s is pleased to offer state-of the art nursery facilities and encourages families to visit the Nursery and meet the staff and volunteers personally.
Older children, who attend church, are invited to the front of the church each week for the Children’s Sermon to listen to a meaningful message from one of our pastors. Immediately following, the children are escorted to the chapel for Children’s Church where they experience interactive learning of the Gospel.
In addition, Sunday School classes are available to all St. Mark’s members ages 3 – adult each Sunday. Nursery care continues for infants and toddlers during this time.
The learning doesn’t stop on Sundays? Join us for Wonderful Wednesdays each Wednesday during the school year from 5:00 – 6:50 p.m. A delicious dinner is available for families to enjoy together in the Fellowship Hall beginning at 5:00 p.m. Afterwards, children are invited to attend choir and/or chime choir before being reunited with parents in the Sanctuary to hear a faith-based message or related activity designed to reinforce spiritual highlights and events of the church season.
Both the choir and chime choir sing/play during at least one church service per month and the children will perform a special musical created just for them, for the congregation as the school year draws to a close.
The children are involved in continuous outreach projects to nurture the concept of helping those less fortunate and are invited to join in fellowship outings to build lasting community and friendships with one another. As expected, our children are always very active in church-wide holiday events and in other ministries at St. Mark’s
We encourage all children to participate in weekly Children’s Ministry activities, but that’s not all! Check out the Children’s Ministry calendar to be sure to attend the Joyland/Alternative Gift Fair at Christmas, Easter Egg Hunt, Spring Carnival and Vacation Bible School just to name a few.
There will always be a warm invitation for your family to become part of the St. Mark’s Children’s Ministry. Please contact any committee or staff member with questions regarding our activities or events and to be sure you and your family are included!
